      On this excursion, discover places that are almost untouched by tourism and experience adventures that are rarely offered in this way.<\/p>

      First, visit a small, unexcavated pyramid, seemingly undisturbed in the heart of a typical Mexican town. Then, be captivated by a remote Mayan site in the neighboring state of Yucatan. This site formed an important link between Chichen Itza and Ek Balam and is strongly influenced by the Puk style. Although discovered as early as 1933, due to a lack of government funding, restoration and further excavation have only recently begun. Archaeologists\u2014some of them quite renowned\u2014continue to support and advance the work. A large Mayan palace and other buildings have already been unearthed, with work still underway on others, offering a wonderful glimpse into the meticulous work involved in archaeology here. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience a Mayan site in its almost pristine state of discovery, before the arrival of the tourist crowds. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the jungle surrounding this site.<\/p>

      Afterwards, you will visit a typical Mexican fruit, vegetable, and meat market, where you will also find local products such as household goods. You won't find any tourist souvenirs here, as the market is frequented almost exclusively by locals.<\/p>

      After a traditional Yucatec lunch, explore underground caves built by the great-great-grandparents of the current owners in honor of the Three Wise Men. On the walls, you can admire paintings and sculptures of exotic animals from the Orient. Before these were opened to the public, the owning family gathered in these subterranean vaults for generations to celebrate feasts and other festivities. Nowadays, around January 6th, many pilgrims arrive and some even leave their mark on the walls.<\/p>

      Finally, visit the remains of a cathedral in a nearby village, built by the Franciscans using stones from ancient Mayan buildings that had been demolished. A small museum houses ancient relics.<\/p>

      IMPORTANT: As this excursion will take us deep into the jungle where there are insects, we recommend bringing long trousers and closed shoes.<\/strong><\/p>
