About us
Away from mass tourism!

Are you also tired of always being herded through tourist destinations in large, multilingual groups without personal guidance?

Then you've come to the right place!

My name is Claudia Zöbisch. I originally come from the greater Munich area and have lived in Playa del Carmen on the beautiful Yucatan Peninsula since 2002. Through my marriage to Joel Ku Caamal, who grew up in a Mayan village far from the tourist areas, I have gained many insights into this fascinating culture.

Years of experience in ecotourism led me to the idea of becoming self-employed and creating customized, nature- and people-focused excursions. Through my work as a tour guide for large tour operators, I saw and experienced several drawbacks to the way tours are conducted: with excessively large groups, personal contact with clients is lost, and as a tour guide, the lack of interaction with individual clients quickly leads to a monotonous routine. Therefore, it quickly became clear that I would keep my own tours small to ensure that they remain varied and interesting for both clients and tour guides.

And so, in 2007, our company Aledia Tours was founded.

Our goal was to guide small groups to the region's most beautiful sights in a personal and friendly atmosphere. At the time, our concept stood out significantly from the other offerings in the area, as it was unique in this form. Our years of hard-earned experience proved invaluable in designing and delivering these excursions, and we quickly established a reputation as a competent tour operator. Our model was a success with customers from the very beginning. We now have many returning guests and receive frequent recommendations from friends, family, and acquaintances, as well as online via Facebook, TripAdvisor, and HolidayCheck.

Many warm greetings from Mexico

Yours truly, Claudia and Yasmin, my daughter

Our beginnings
My ex-husband and I started out very small, just the two of us, acting as tour guides, drivers, and office staff all in one. At first, we specialized in just three tours and refined the details before gradually adding other destinations. We wanted to offer our customers the best possible service. As in any area of life, it was a learning process that required a lot of hard work, but in the end, it gave us a result we can be proud of.
Our team

Once the final, proven concept was in place, it was very well received by customers, and in a very short time, demand was so high that we needed support: first with additional tour guides, and eventually also in the office and with customer service, because we realized that our work begins long before the vacation. Our guests contact us—sometimes months—before their arrival, reserving their tours without obligation, and we are also happy to provide them with general tips and tricks. For many, it's their first long-distance trip, and having a German-speaking contact person in the destination country helps alleviate their nervousness and increases their anticipation for the upcoming vacation.

Here on-site, contact doesn't break down, of course; support is provided continuously by the office staff and, naturally, by colleagues on the routes. Everyone is approachable, and this lively interaction creates the friendly atmosphere we strive for. Besides frequent customer contact, a welcoming work environment is particularly important to us, which, in our experience, also extends to the routes and thus to the participants.

Our tour guides have all completed extensive training as tour guides and possess a great deal of background knowledge about flora, fauna, people and everyday life in Mexico, as well as, of course, archaeologically sound knowledge.

We now have a permanent team of more than 10 people, as well as many indirect employees such as hired drivers, captains and other service providers.

Our philosophy

As a former employee of many purely profit-driven event organizers, a warm and friendly atmosphere among colleagues is very important to me. Respect, trust, and loyalty are paramount in our company.

As many other successful employers across various industries have recognized, we also know that you can only win customers for your product and/or service if your employees feel comfortable and identify with the company. We are very proud of Aledia Tours' growth, but above all, we are happy to be surrounded by such great colleagues and to be able to work with them.

Therefore, we would be delighted if you would also embark on this adventure and become part of our Aledia family!!!
